Since 2013, DRIAD has supported more than 125 start-ups in structuring their innovative projects to help them access grant funding. In the process, we have been successful in helping start-ups secure over £33 million.
We now aim to reach out to more start-ups to direct them towards grant funding and help them to scale up, especially those who have applied in the past and were unsuccessful. We also want to grow to serve the whole Northern Powerhouse, an area that is currently underserved. This means expanding as a company, developing our own skills and processes to be even more efficient, delivering the best service to our clients.
Through two pitching rounds, we’ve been able to secure a place within the Entrepreneur Accelerator Program by NatWest Business bank, to help us do just that. The NatWest Accelerator program is DRIAD’s newest adventure and we are excited to double the company’s workload, and grow at a faster rate.
We joined the Leeds Hub on the 16th of April with the 108(!) other start-ups being accelerated in this cohort, the largest ever. Yet another proof that the Leeds start-up ecosystem is heating up!
As a national bank, NatWest has already invested over £255m in start-ups. In 2018 alone, they supported nearly 4,000 early-stage companies in their twelve accelerator hubs throughout the UK. NatWest supports businesses that wish to scale by providing free office space, one-to-one coaching for the program duration, access to business mentors, legal and technical advice, bespoke events and workshops as well as access to their extensive network. This support is fully funded with ‘no strings attached’ other than actually committing to grow.
We are based on level 2 in the Leeds NatWest Accelerator hub and the entire team is excited to begin this new journey. Come and say hello!
